MLB.tv Free Baseball Game of the Day

Each day baseball fans are treated to a Free Game of the Day brought to you by the fine people at MLB.tv . When the Cardinals are playing, I plug in the headphones or hook up my laptop to the TV and watch my boys in action. This is a promotion for the full mlb.tv premium experience, but still it just might be the best way to watch an out-of-market game for free without cable that you can do without leaving your house. They usually have the free games scheduled 2-3 days in advance. So, it will be a great day when the Cardinals hit that free game again (they actually had the free one yesterday and I missed it due to being at a minor league game).

So, try the link and let me know how much you appreciate the games in the comments!

World Series Heroes talk about their Faith

"Tales from the Dugout" is a YouTube video from a Grand Canyon University event that drew a huge crowd to hear inspirational stories from three of the top players in the game including Pujols, Hamilton and Zito.
Josh Hamilton, Barry Zito, and Albert Pujols at GCU

I live in Dallas and so I've had the opportunity to watch the Rangers and I can say that it was sweet to watch the Cards beat them in 2011. But both Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols have had huge influence on the teams that I have followed for the past 4 years. Their godly character shines very often even if they decided to leave the teams for the Arte Moreno's money that's a different story.

So, to see the guys talk about their faith and their hope for the city of Anaheim is refreshing. That is true, even if I root for the Cardinals to beat them in 4 games during the World Series this season. (I am loyal to the Cards, never doubt that!)

Ozzie Smith and Pepsi Max

We're off to see the Wizard! Who doesn't love the Wizard of Oz? Ozzie smith that is. Did anyone else have the poster with Ozzie as the wizard with the black cape and Golden Glove? I've searched the interwebs for an image of that poster that hung in my bedroom during the late 80s and early 90s. Where it went, I have no idea. It probably went to a box when I moved from St. Louis to Raleigh in '92. I sure wish I had that thing...

Well, Pepsi has brought back Ozzie in a major way. The commercial below ends with the Wizard and his signature move. No, it's not the one hop throw to first base from short, or laying out flat to catch a liner going to his left. But, Ozzie was such a great Hall of Famer that his signature move came before the game even started...that's how good he was. As the Pepsi man says, "I love it when he does that." That is not to minimize his over 2000 hits or 13 gold gloves. Enjoy and let me know if you have that poster I mentioned.

How to Bat like a Major League Player (Cardinals edition)

O...the memories. Who can forget Willie McGee or Jack Clark's stance? Well, now you don't have to. Batting Stance Guy has taken care of that and 14 other classic Cardinals. This is an older video, but the first time that I have seen it and I couldn't stop laughing. I remember John Mabry (current assistant hitting coach) doing something similar on This Week in Baseball years ago. Anyone else remember that? Fill out a poll past the jump...
